The billboard campaign for the Limassol Marathon in 2025 was strategically developed in collaboration with Online Solutions. Together, we created a high-impact outdoor presence designed to reflect the scale and energy of the island’s biggest sporting event.
The final campaign included three outdoor LED billboards across key locations in Limassol and one indoor LED board at Limassol Agora. As a result, the marathon achieved strong visibility both on busy roads and inside one of the city’s most popular lifestyle destinations.
Why Outdoor Advertising Was the Perfect Fit
The Limassol Marathon is the largest sports event in Cyprus. It features six races and four parallel events, attracting thousands of runners and spectators from Cyprus and abroad. The 2026 edition will take place on 21st and 22nd March 2026, bringing the city to life once again.
Promoting a marathon through billboards is not just smart – it is strategic. Since runners train outdoors and frequently move around the city, outdoor advertising connects with them naturally. Whether driving along the coastal road, running along the beachfront, or meeting in the city centre, participants encounter the message in real life. Fully accredited by AIMS, the Limassol Marathon follows a flat and scenic route along the Mediterranean coastline. The course begins in the city centre, runs along the beachfront, passes the ruins of the ancient Royal city of Amathus, and returns to the heart of Limassol.
The full marathon covers 42.195 kilometres. 26.2188 miles. 26.2188 smiles.
This unique route makes the marathon not only a sporting event but also a lifestyle experience. Promoting it through billboards reinforces that connection with the city. The campaign visually reflected the coastal energy and athletic spirit that define the event.
The Power of Outdoor and Indoor LED Presence
The three outdoor LED boards captured attention from drivers, pedestrians, and daily commuters. At the same time, the indoor LED screen at Limassol Agora reached shoppers and visitors in a more relaxed setting. As a result, the campaign achieved repeated exposure throughout different moments of the day.
This mix of outdoor and indoor visibility strengthened awareness across multiple touchpoints. Ultimately, repetition builds familiarity, and familiarity drives action.
